The Lyme Regis Fossil Festival seems to be getting bigger and more exciting every year and this year was no exception. Thousands of people visited Lyme Regis over the May bank holiday weekend to enjoy the experience. The Jurassic Coast Team had a stand inside the marquee and ran a number of activities including a beautiful collection of David Sole’s fossils, a bonkers 5 minute Forkbeard Fantasy film about the Jurassic Coast, the fossil dig box and of course, the bunting.
250 children worked with the team over the weekend to create these beautiful bunting triangles. We couldn’t keep up with demand! Everyone that visited the stand wanted to take part. The bunting has now been put together by Katie Burden from the team and they will be on display to decorate the Bayside tent in Weymouth & Portland this summer during the Olympic Games (27th July – 12th August).
We’d like to thank everyone that took part to help us create the bunting and if you’re visiting the tent this summer, look out for your triangle!
