The Jurassic Coast Team is proudly launching a new travelling exhibition this month all about The Wonders of World Heritage. World Heritage Status is not something we have been able to delve into in great detail before but it is essential to understanding how the Jurassic Coast fits into the global family of World Heritage Sites.
The central idea of World Heritage is intended to promote peace and international cooperation. Sites like the Jurassic Coast embody that ideal and are symbolic of how cultures, histories and natural sites across continents hold relevance for all people, regardless of national borders. Whether it is an architectural masterpiece, the birthplace of technological advancement, or a spectacular and essential habitat, World Heritage Sites belong to us all, to be treasured and protected.

Curated by the Jurassic Coast Team with support from the Jurassic Coast Trust and Dorset County Council, the exhibition includes large displays and interactive activities exploring what it means to be a World Heritage Site.

The exhibition includes an interactive ‘Build Your Own Jurassic Coast’ feature.
There’s also a fantastic interactive feature created by Forkbeard Fantasy, the offbeat masterminds behind the hugely successful A Mighty Tale film and book.
The exhibition will run from 14th January to the 5th February, open 10.30 – 16.00 at Durlston Castle, Swanage.
After that it will tour various locations along the Jurassic Coast. Updates will be available on jurassiccoast.link.
