As England’s only natural World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast is a wonderful place to visit this summer. With beautiful beaches to explore, amazing fossils to be found and some fantastic summer events there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

move. Rock falls and landslides can, and do, happen anytime without warning. Although it’s a tempting way to find that perfect fossil, climbing and digging in the cliffs is highly dangerous to you and others around you. Make sure you enjoy the coast safely, whether you are out walking, fossil hunting, having a picnic or taking selfies. It’s easy to stay safe by following a few simple rules.
The golden rules: stay safe while you have fun

Stay away from the edge of the cliff top – admire the view from a safe distance..

Stay away from the base of cliffs: rock falls and landslides can happen at any time

Pay attention to warning signs – they are there for your safety.

Check tide times before you set off to avoid being cut off by rising tides.

Be aware of mud flows extending across the beaches – don’t get stuck.

Keep dogs on leads near the cliff edge.
