Caz Scott is a Dorset based artist with a love for the nature and geology of the Jurassic Coast. She trained in fine art at the Arts University Bournemouth and now works as a full-time artist from her studio in Dorchester. Caz recently became a Business Partner of the Jurassic Coast Trust.
Caz’s paintings aim to simplify the complexity of the landscape, drawing out the image, and building and balancing shape and colour to reflect the strength, uniqueness, and beauty of the scenery. The images that she paints are vibrant and depict her response and deep emotional attachment to her surroundings. She spends long periods walking, observing and sketching along the coast path, and is motivated by the dramatic landforms and wildness of the coast, often returning to familiar places as well as seeking new inspiration.

I’ve had a wonderful summer of gathering inspirations and producing drawings in preparation for new work. At the end of October I was fortunate to be able to spend an amazing and sunny week at Ringstead in which I was graced with beautiful weather which allowed me to swim daily.

I am now back in Dorchester organising my exhibitions for November. I am at the Chesil Beach Centre until the 25th November, at an exhibition of art inspired by wildlife, nature, and landscapes from all across Dorset. The exhibition will help Dorset Wildlife Trust raise vital funds for their conservation work in the area.
In addition to Chesil, I am excited to be exhibiting at the Malthouse Gallery, Town Mill in Lyme Regis until the 21st November. Both of these exhibitions have free entry – please do pop in and take a look.
