An organisation’s website is a labour of love; it needs hand holding, it needs attention and it needs a make-over every now and again.
To this end, I would love to be able to say that I’ve enjoyed leading our organisation into this new digital phase, but I’d probably be underplaying the truth a little! It has been challenging and painstakingly frustrating at times; however with the amazing creative skill and vision of Graham Dell and his team at The Crowd Group, alongside much time and energy from within our own team at JCT, we are proud as punch to have a new website which is not only visually stunning, but has improved usability, particularly for people wanting to plan their trip to the Jurassic Coast and those who want to find out more of what we do and how they can support us.
To coincide with the re-launch, we now have a live platform for the Jurassic Coast Volunteer Network, which is a new Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) funded programme, aiming to build skills and improve employment opportunities for young people in Dorset and East Devon. We already have volunteers signed up and are working with business across the coast to provide meaningful work placements to enhance CV’s and to build capacity for host organisations . If you would like to know more about this programme, please visit the page on our new website or contact our Volunteer Network Coordinator Caroline Pearce.
Please do visit the site and hopefully take away something new from it; whether that be an exciting new family walk, identifying new fossils, finding out more about our protection and conservation work or signing up to be a member. We hope you enjoy the experience and we would welcome your feedback.
Happy browsing!
