On Tuesday 23rd October, the Jurassic Coast Trust welcomed award-winning journalist Kate Adie CBE to Symondsbury Tithe Barn for an evening of exploring the stories from the Jurassic Coast that resonate most strongly in the 21st century. Kate spoke passionately about what our outstanding World Heritage coastline means to her, before handing over to the evening’s main speaker, Doug Hulyer.

As an environmentalist and educator with over 30 years experience, Doug kept the audience engaged with his talk which focused on the Age of the Anthropocene, and what lessons the Jurassic Coast can teach us in dealing with mass extinctions, climate change and other global environmental issues. Kate led an active Q&A session, with strong input from the audience and then opened the evening to networking with guests, set amongst the backdrop of Colin Bentley’s exhibition of Jurassic Coast landscape paintings.
