The Jurassic Coast Trust is inviting people to share their favourite coastal walks, views and spots as part of their #MyJurassicCoast campaign. It comes as the charity has been nominated for “Best Use of Content” at the Travolution Digital Awards.
Featured prominently on Instagram and at their website, #MyJurassicCoast highlights how the coastline has helped people in Dorset, Devon and further afield to get through this difficult year. Daily featured posts demonstrate people’s connection to the coast and the physical and mental benefits it has brought them.
The campaign also aims to highlight the work of the Trust in conserving and protecting the Jurassic Coast, England’s only Natural World Heritage Site. Visitors are encouraged to support the Trust by making a donation or becoming a Member, so that the coast can remain in pristine shape for when they are next able to visit.
#MyJurassicCoast is another ground-breaking digital initiative from the Trust, who have recently been nominated for The Travolution Awards, recognising the most innovative and exciting work in digital travel by organisations worldwide. Other nominees include the Costa Rica Tourism Board and Ocean Florida. The Trust are nominated for “Best Use of Content”, making “original and creative written, visual and audio content that inspires customers throughout their dreaming, booking and experiencing journey”.
Recent inspiring digital content from the Trust has included an in-depth video explaining the geology behind the recent landslip at Eype (shown below), the Big Five Fossils campaign, and their extensive up-to-the-minute travel advice for coastal visitors earlier this Summer.
The Trust’s Partnerships and Engagement Manager Caroline Pearce, who is leading this latest campaign, said: ““#MyJurassicCoast is a celebration of what the Jurassic Coast means to you in 2020. We know for many it is an important part of mental well being and want to remind you to get out there, if you can, and take in the view and salty sea air. For those too far away we can only offer you the images, but the coast will still be here for you after Lockdown.
To be featured in the campaign, share your story of what the Jurassic Coast means to you on Instagram, and tag your photo with #myjurassiccoast. Tell us who you are, what your favourite view, walk, moment or memory of the Jurassic Coast means to you, and how it has helped you get through this challenging year.”
