It was decided that this year’s Jurassic Coast Business Award would be for businesses that have contributed to the values of the Dorset and East Devon Coast World Heritage Site. We had some great entries from businesses and business owners who have done so much for the Jurassic Coast and improving the experience for visitors over the last 10 years. The four shortlisted businesses Bagwell Farm Touring Park, Stuart Line Cruises, Discover Dorset and Oakdown Holiday Park all exemplified this commitment in their own special ways.
The Award panel had a difficult task but decided to present the Gary Breeze designed award to Tim Sanders, Managing Director of Discover Dorset. I initially met Tim on his first Jurassic Coast Tour when he came to Durlston and the Lookout cafe. His enthusiasm was obvious and its been great to see the business develop since that meeting in 2004. The Jurassic Coast Award is sponsored by the Fine Family Foundation who have made a long-standing contribution to projects all along the Jurassic Coast.
