On 14 December 2007 over 140 delegates attended a stimulating Jurassic Coast Annual Seminar containing presentations and discussions at Bridport Arts Centre on the theme of “Arts & Science: the Big Idea”.
The keynote address was given by artist Dan Harvey who entertained the audience with a lively and informative illustrated talk on his involvement with the Cape Farewell project. Cape Farewell is supported by the Natural History Museum and South Bank Centre and is specifically concerned with artists’ and scientists’ joint responses to global warming. Dan went on to share a discussion platform hosted by Tracey Guiry, which explored ways in which artists and scientists could work together along the Jurassic Coast and continue to achieve mutual aims.
Delegates also heard from Durlston Project Leader Martin Cooke and Andrew Ford of Bournemouth University.
