As a marine photographer and Jurassic Coast Ambassador, I’ve spent many hours cruising along the entire length of the Jurassic Coast capturing images from my motor boat Strange Weather.

As well as the stunning vistas, I’ve enjoyed photographing a huge range of human activity, from pot boats crabbing to supertankers refuelling and from the aerial antics of kite-surfers to the clamber and splash of coasteering.
For me, these are all legitimate aspects of our World Heritage Site as it sits in the 21st century and I enjoy recording it all for this and future generations to see.
My first book, Dorset From The Sea, has proved very popular and is still available from the Jurassic Coast Trust online shop.
But a major bonus of all this time afloat is that I’m frequently visited by marine wildlife in many forms, capped by regular sightings of dolphins, sometimes pretty close up. It’s always a hugely uplifting experience to see these beautiful and joyous wild animals cavorting with each other, dancing and seemingly just enjoying life (particularly the fairground fun of riding the boat’s bow wave!) All my dolphin images have been captured along the Jurassic Coast, mostly around Weymouth and Portland where I live.
I couldn’t fill a book with them, but for 2021 I’ve created a calendar to share the pleasure of just watching these smiling creatures enjoying their Jurassic Coast habitat.
