It’s Friday, it’s nearly the end of the Easter Holidays and quite predictably, next weeks weather looks beautiful!
Here at JCT HQ, we have been discussing the weekend and really needed some inspiration! Like many with children or grandchildren on their Easter break, for the past 2 weeks we have been searching for things to do which didn’t involve constant changes of wet clothes and I am sure, like us, you will have taken full advantage of our wonderful museums and visitor centres along the coast to amuse little minds; we hope you have been to say ‘hi’ to Dippy at Dorset County Museum and maybe even made a hat complete with feathers as part of your trip.
This weekend, we are advocating getting outdoors! If you are looking for ideas of where to go and how to get there, have a look at our Bus Stop Walks! It’s always more of an adventure going somewhere on a bus or a train and these lovely short walks, pulled together by Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Jurassic Coast Team are accessible and fun for all to enjoy.
All of them start at bus stops along the Jurassic Coaster bus route in West Dorset. We plan to publish more walks along other parts of the coast and inland in the future. Take a picnic, some paper and pens to log what you can find and maybe your rain coat and take adventure of the last few days of holiday to go and explore.
As always, when walking on the Jurassic Coast, please remember to stay away from the top and bottom of the cliffs as they are prone to falling down. Visit our Coastal Safety page for more information on how to enjoy the Jurassic Coast safely.
We hope you enjoy the walks as much as we do. If you find any issues with any of the routes, please do let us know.
