Amazing detail
This tiny little wing, only 3 mm long, belongs to a type of fly known as a fungus gnat (the technical name being Mycetophilidae). There are about 3,000 species so far recognised on earth today, and they mostly live in swarms in damp environments where their host fungi grows.
