Nature Rocks is back in West Bay for another year, offering three days of family fun and an opportunity for people to engage with the coast, their natural environment and local history. It will run from 11-13th August at The Salt House and its surrounding lawn.
‘Nature Rocks has become somewhat of a summer tradition for the Bridport area. We love the relaxed feel of the event; people can stop by whilst visiting West Bay or pop in and out over the course of the three days and see what’s going on.’

Appearing this year will be popular paper mache artist Darrell Wakelam, creating a “Cabinet of Curiosities” over three days in the mould of famous Bridport scientist Dr. Roberts. Members of the public can chip in and add their own hand-made curios to the cabinet.
Martin Maudsley will appear on Thursday, weaving fascinating stories about the coast based on traditional folklore in a series of story-telling slots. There’ll be displays and activities throughout the three days from organisations such as Bridport Museum Trust, the Jurassic Coast Team and Litter Free Coast & Sea.
Nichola Blackmore, Assistant Curator of Bridport Museum Trust, said of the event, ‘Bridport Museum are delighted to be involved with Nature Rocks, as it is such a great way to get the community interested in their local environment and history. This year the museum are really looking forward to creating curiosities and curios, just like our very own Dr Roberts!’
