The Jurassic Coast Trust is seeking to appoint three new Trustees to strengthen its activities as a major force in the management of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. First to be appointed is Dorset resident Dr John Bone who brings more than 20 years in global marketing and five years experience as Trustee of a worldwide educational charity to complement the existing 11 board members.
The Jurassic Coast Trust is seeking to appoint three new Trustees to strengthen its activities as a major force in the management of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
First to be appointed is Dorset resident Dr John Bone who brings more than 20 years in global marketing and five years experience as Trustee of a worldwide educational charity to complement the existing 11 board members.
The search now continues for two further Trustees.
‘The Trust has been active in raising funds in support of the Jurassic Coast for the past 10 years. Moving forward we now wish to expand our activities to work more closely with the local communities and businesses in particular’, explained James Weld Chairman of the Jurassic Coast Trust’
‘The position of Jurassic Coast Trustee is voluntary and would appeal to those with a background in fundraising, corporate sponsorship, organisational development or business liaison. Trustee’s should share an interest and knowledge of the Jurassic Coast and be willing to commit about three days a month’.
The 95 mile stretch of coastline between Swanage in Dorset and Exmouth in Devon became England’s first and only natural World Heritage Site in 2001. The responsibility for looking after it is shared between a Partnership of organisations and individuals. As the fundraising arm, the Jurassic Coast Trust has raised more than £500,000 towards the conservation, education and enjoyment of the coast.
‘As an enthusiastic user of the Jurassic Coast, who has recently completed the South West Coast Path, it is great to be able to give something back by playing an active role in looking after this stunning coastline’ said John Bone.
