Kate Adie
The Jurassic Coast Trust is excited to welcome award-winning journalist Kate Adie CBE to Symondsbury later this month, for an evening exploring the stories from the Jurassic Coast that resonate most strongly in the 21st century.
Kate will speak about what Dorset’s outstanding World Heritage coastline means to her, before handing over to the evening’s main speaker, Doug Hulyer. An environmentalist and educator with over 30 years experience, Doug’s talk will focus on the Age of the Anthropocene, and what lessons the Jurassic Coast can teach us in dealing with mass extinctions, climate change and other global environmental issues. Following his talk, Kate will host a Q&A session, with input from the audience strongly encouraged.
The evening will take place at Symondsbury Estate’s Tithe Barn on Tuesday 23 October, and will be set amongst Colin Bentley’s exhibition of Jurassic Coast landscape paintings. In addition to the talks, there will be opportunities to meet the artist and view the exhibition.

Entry to the evening is free for Jurassic Coast Trust Members. Membership starts from just £3 per month, and new Members can join at jurassiccoast.link/love-your-coast. Tickets for non-Members are £10 and are available from the Jurassic Coast Trust’s online shop. Entry includes nibbles, with drinks available at the venue’s bar.
