Holidaymakers at one of Dorset’s largest holiday park operators have raised over £80,000 for the Jurassic Coast Trust since 2008, helping to protect, conserve and educate people about England’s only natural World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast.
West Dorset Leisure Holidays have raised funds through an optional donation being added to customers’ bookings across their four holiday parks, which has accumulated over the last ten years to in excess of £80,000. West Dorset Leisure Holidays are leaders in the field of charitable support along the Jurassic Coast, and their generosity has inspired over 70 other businesses large and small across the coast and beyond to join the Jurassic Coast Trust as Business Partners, contributing towards the ongoing protection of the World Heritage Site.
Martin Cox from West Dorset Leisure Holidays said, “It is great to be able to contribute to the Jurassic Coast Trust, and we are proud to have passed the £80,000 fundraising mark. We are very lucky to live in West Dorset and for our visitors to be able to give something back to the local area is an added benefit for all of us.”
Guy Kerr, Programme Manager for Engagement and Partnerships at the Jurassic Coast Trust said, “Having the support of West Dorset Leisure Holidays is absolutely critical in delivering our charitable aims of protecting and educating people about the Jurassic Coast. The amount that they have raised from their guests, thousands of holidaymakers who love and enjoy the coastline, is truly inspirational. Reaching the £80,000 milestone is a tremendous achievement and an example to businesses coast-wide.”
