Every day during the first 12 days of December, the Jurassic Coast Trust team will share their favourite Christmas gift ideas from our online shop.
From books and maps to Pterosaur kites to surfing dinosaur T-shirts, our shop has a gift for every Jurassic Coast fan. Proceeds from all items sold help the Trust in its work to protect, conserve and educate people about the Jurassic Coast.
We kick off Day 1 with Poppy the West Highland Terrier.
“Hi, my name’s Poppy and when I’m not busy hoovering the office, I like to get out and about on the Jurassic Coast with my owner, Helen. There is nothing quite like letting off steam running up Thorncombe Beacon or paddling at Ringstead Bay or Sidmouth Beach – both beaches are suitable for those of us with short legs.
When it came to my Christmas list, I couldn’t decide between Walking the East Jurassic Coast and Walking the West Jurassic Coast as I love it all so much!
The books have walks for all kinds of dogs and people, following old smugglers’ routes along the coast path with detours inland. Learn about the geology and history of a landscape formed over millions of years – a land where dinosaurs have given way to dogs. That’s evolution.
Like most high achievers, I believe there’s always room for improvement. These books will surely help me with my diet and exercise plan for the new year.
